Fuhr Locks now Secured by DesignGlass Tec Windows now have a further reason to choose FUHR- the company’s multi point locking system have now been awarded ‘Police Preferred Specification’s status by the Secured by Design (SBD) scheme. Secured by design is a UK Police glagship initiative that supports the concept of ‘designing out crime’ by the use of effective crime prevention and security standards for products.
Ian Ward, managing director of FUHR UK, comments “secured by design is now recognised throughout the industry as the standard ‘must have’ security standard to prove against product’s integrity against unwanted intruders. Gaining police preferred status for our multi safe lock range is one more reason for our customers to have confidence in the security and reliability of the FUHR brand”.
Established in 1989, SBD is owned by the association of the police officers (acpo). The scheme acknowledges quality security products and promotes the use of security-standards-and has the backing of the Home Office, the planning section of communities and local governments and many local authorities in the UK.
FUHR’s high security, multipoint locks are now entitiled to use the SBD logo and title police preferred specification showing that its products meet the stringent security standards. The locks are part of the MULTISAFE door lock programmes which provides fabricators with a high quality soloution, whilst still remaining competitive in the market place.
“Not only do FUHR multi-point locks provide the fabricator with unbeatable deal in terms of quality and value, they now have the added SBD-a majority selling point with end users”. Says Ian Ward.
